1) Make space: 

Go back and watch your existing furniture and decor. To make space, get rid of furniture which has been damaged, old, very big, very small or you do not like it anymore. If it is something you want to keep, which is not fit in that room then put it somewhere else in your house. Now, you have only those pieces which you want to move forward, it means you are ready for the next step.

2) Choose the color for your living room: 

The color will set the tone for your living room, mostly blue and green colors will give a cool effect, while vibrant colors (red, purple, orange) are active. Neutral colors like white and grey are the perfect canvas for bright and bold accents. If you want to paint your living area for the summer of for the spring then you can use light colors like blue, white, light pink etc. because these colors reflect heat from inside to outside and keep cool.

You should buy furniture according to your need. If you have a small family then you can take small sofa like for 5-6 members. If you have a large family then you can take a big one. Your living room will look great with glass top, open base, and designer feet of coffee table but because coffee table is small, it looks messy next to the sofa; you should take it in a similar style but a big one if you have a big sofa set. Use contemporary style sofa for a modern home décor. This is better if you prefer plain and solid color furniture for your living space.

If you have wall to wall carpeting doesn’t mean you should skip a floor rug. It’s only way to define the seating area and without this, furniture feels like its floating, not renovating and inviting. If the carpet contains, abstract, contemporary, erased pattern then that’s great for designing a designer living space.

Vibrant and beautiful pillows can add the charm to any place. If you have a white sofa then place light color cushions. You can also take hand woven pillows if you want to mix match with your carpet and décor.
